The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan will be the guest speaker at our Christmas Lunch 2018 this coming Thursday. A full house is expected for Mr Khan, who will address key topics including Brexit, the future of Dublin/London relations and the importance of city regions to successful national economies in an increasingly globalised world.

 

The event will also include a panel session with Irish rugby legend Donncha O'Callaghan and members of Ireland's victorious rugby team.

 

The lunch is kindly sponsored by Vodafone and will take place on Thursday (6th December) in the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road. Tables are priced at €1500 and individual tickets are €125, contact Máire Fay maire@dublinchamber.ie to reserve your place.


Chamber Council Elections: Help Shape Your City for the Better
 

Do you care about the future of your City? What ideas do you have to make Dublin a better place in which to do business?

 

Becoming a member of Dublin Chamber’s elected Council would provide you with an opportunity to make a real impact in both these areas. Nominations are now being taken for the 10 Council openings we have available for 2019. Read on for more details about what the role involves and how to get nominated before the 14th December deadline.

Do you care about the future of your City?  What ideas do you have to make Dublin a better place in which to do business?

 

Being a member of Dublin Chamber’s elected Council would provide you with an opportunity to make a real impact. That’s why I’d like to encourage you to consider running for 1 of the 10 positions we have open in our upcoming Council Elections.

 

The elected Council plays a key role in influencing and approving the Chamber’s lobbying agenda on behalf of your fellow members. The Council is also responsible for electing the Chamber President. 

 

The Chamber looks to utilise the knowledge and experience of Council members to bring to life our Vision for Dublin 2050 and to further our ambition for Dublin to be a city renowned for its economic vitality and quality of life.

 

Through active participation on taskforces and at regular meetings, Council members are able to share their business acumen to inform decision–making on issues such as infrastructure development, business competitiveness and the annual Government budget.

 

Being elected to Council will provide you with a unique window into the Dublin business environment as you interact closely with fellow business leaders from across all sectors and industries.

 

Each year, 10 positions on Council are open to Dublin Chamber members only. We would encourage you to consider running for election or to nominate a colleague. To learn more about the function of Council and further details about the Election Process click here.

Ireland's 5 Cities Come Together to Form 'City Regions Ireland'

This week saw the launch of City Regions Ireland, a new joint initiative between Ireland’s five city Chambers of Commerce:Dublin Chamber, Cork Chamber, Galway Chamber, Limerick Chamber and Waterford Chamber.The first job of the new group has been to produce an '8 Principles' document which signposts the main areas and issues that the Government must focus on to ensure the country’s 5 cities grow sustainably. The 8 Principles were presented by the group to the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, Eoghan Murphy at a meeting in Custom House. Hong Kong Trade Mission
13th-18th January
 

The Chamber's annual trade mission to Hong Kong will take place from 13th-18th January 2019. The mission is organised annually to identify new opportunities for Irish companies in the Asian market. The programme will include networking activities and will be varied to include insights, site visits and activities across a number of sectors including Finance, Fintech, F&B and Smart Technologies.
