Good news for service providers: following a clarification request from Dublin Chamber, the Government has confirmed to us that businesses which pay commercial rates and meet the other eligibility criteria will qualify for the Restart Grant, regardless of whether they are a service provider or an office-based company. New research from PayPal, conducted by Ipsos and involving 2,000 consumers in Ireland, reveals that cashless will be crucial as Irish consumers look to support local businesses following the Covid-19 lockdown. More than 1.9 million people do not want to use cash going forward, according to the company's research. Annette Hickey, Vice-President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Customer Services, PayPal, said; "there is a silver lining in that communities are coming together in Ireland and supporting each other".
HSE's Paul Reid Up First on EY's New CEO Podcast Series
A new podcast series has been launched by EY. The new CEO Outlook podcast, hosted by the journalist and broadcaster Richard Curran, will feature inspirational conversations as their CEOs share their insights into leadership, delivering results and the secrets of their success. In the first episode, Paul Reid, CEO of the HSE, talks to Richard about the personal and professional challenges of steering Ireland’s health service through the Covid-19 crisis. Grant Thornton 5K Challenge Goes Virtual
Grant Thornton has launched a virtual 5K challenge race series with races set to take place virtually around Ireland for the first time ever. The race series encourages social running amongst Ireland’s business community and welcomes runners of all abilities. New features being introduced this year include the use of a live leader board and a new online registration system, and this year teams and individuals are invited to enter. Bonnington Dublin Receives 4-Star Rating
There was good news for The Bonnington Dublin recently when it received a 4 star rating. Re-opening on the 29th of June, the hotel said that attaining the rating had been down to lots of hard work by their staff and the refurbishment of their rooms, dining areas and conference spaces. The Marker Hotel Reopening on 8th July
