Participants of this one-day course will achieve a practical overview of Trade Terms and Documents in International Shipping and Payments. This course is eligible for funding from IntertradeIreland under their Brexit voucher scheme subject to approval. Are you interested in taking on new talent in your business? Do you need to bridge specific skills? The Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is a EU funded project that matches new entrepreneurs with experienced Host Entrepreneurs (HE) across the continent. New Entrepreneurs (NE) gather and exchange knowledge and business ideas with an experienced entrepreneur, with whom they stay and collaborate for a period of 1 to 6 months. NE are paid a stipend every month from the EU Commission and the exchange comes at no cost to the HE.

Brexit Update from Chambers Ireland

On 19 July, the European Commission published a Communication advising Member States/businesses to step up preparations in advance of the UK’s departure form the EU in March 2019. The notice provides advice on how to manage a transition (if agreed as part of a Withdrawal Agreement) and indeed what steps to take to prepare for the possibility that a Withdrawal Agreement would not be in place.

Good Practice Awards - Closing date 26 September

The Good Practice Awards is one of the main elements of the 2018/19 Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances Campaign designed to identify and highlight the best examples of effective management in the handling and use of dangerous substances. Entries are now being taken for the Irish leg of the awards with a closing date of September 26th.

Annual IHKBF Mission to Hong Kong (13 -18 January 2019)

 

The Ireland Hong Kong Business Forum is pleased to announce expressions of interest for the annual mission to Hong Kong (13-18 January 2019) as now open. This year marks the first time a direct flight from Dublin to Hong Kong is in operation, which makes the prospect of long distance travelling less daunting for delegates. Increased connectivity between Hong Kong and Ireland will mean the opportunities that exist in Hong Kong, the Pearl River Basin and indeed in Asia are set to increase exponentially. 

 

Last year, 22 representatives from Irish companies and semi state bodies travelled to Hong Kong on this mission which included high level networking events organised by  and one-to-one meetings with companies based in Hong Kong. As part of the mission, Hong Kong Trade and Development Council (HKTDC) provided dedicated advisory services and tailored B2B matchmaking services. Delegates were also given the option of a day trip to visit either Shenzhen or Macau, depending on their sector of interest.
