Successful Mission to Brussels

This was the Chamber’s largest ever Brussels mission, with thirty-seven delegates and over eighty attendees at KBC’s dinner.


Over a busy two day schedule, the delegation heard from distinguished speakers such as István Pál Szekey a Director in DG Economic and Financial and a member of Ireland’s troika. Mr Szekey spoke about the Commission’s view on the Irish economy and the challenges we face ahead. Other speakers included Jonathan Taylor of the European Investment Bank, Marie Donnelly a Director in DG Energy, Ambassador Tom Hanney, Deputy Permanent Representative of Ireland to the EU


Just some of the companies and organisations represented on the Mission were BDO, Bord Gáis, Codema, DIT, Department of the Taoiseach, EESC (European Economic and Social Committee),

Enterprise Ireland, Fáilte Ireland, FleishmanHillard Brussels, Grant Thornton, IBEC Europe, Insurance Ireland, International Paper, Ireland Belgium Business Association, CRH Group,

KPMG, McCannFitzgerald, Musgrave Group, PwC, Quinn School of Business UCD, Southwestern, The Doyle Collection, Towers Watson, Trinity College Dublin and William Fry.


Dublin Chamber plans to make a return visit in 2014, hoping to build on this year’s successes and continue to nurture the business relationship between Dublin and Brussels.
