AGM 2018 Wrap-Up

 

The Chamber's AGM took place on Thursday 15th February in the Intercontinental Dublin. The meeting saw the official inauguration of Anne O'Leary, CEO of Vodafone, as Chamber President. A number of new additions were confirmed to the Chamber Council. A full listing is available on the website. Following the meeting, the sold-out AGM Dinner saw the newly-elected President make her first address. You can see photos from the night here. Tee It Up for the Chamber Golf Day!
 
We're delighted to announce that the 2018 staging of the Chamber Charity Golf Day will take place at the stunning St. Margaret's Golf & Country Club on the afternoon of Friday 15th June. The event will begin with a networking lunch from 12.30pm, followed by a shotgun start at 2pm sharp. The golf will be followed by a 3-course meal at 7pm. The format of the day will be a Texas Scramble. Irish Water Has Proposed New Connection Charges
 

A public consultation on Irish Water’s proposed Connection Policy is now underway.
 
If your business is planning investments that will require new water and wastewater connections, you should take heed.


Irish Water is proposing a national framework of standard connection charges based on pipe size and distance from mains. This simplified system will replace the previous model of 900+ different charges across 31 local authorities.
 
Irish Water has stated that the majority of Non-Domestic Small and Medium users will benefit from the proposed regime, which it hopes to implement by Q4 2018.
 
The proposed pricing structure for water and wastewater connections is as follows:

The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU), which is responsible for regulating Irish Water, is running a consultation on the proposals and will publish its final decision in Q3 2018. Full details are of the proposals are available at the relevant CRU webpage.
 
To make your voice heard by the CRU, email waterconnections@cru.ie by close of business on Friday 23 March 2018.
 
Dublin Chamber is represented on the CRU’s consultative group for businesses, the Non-Domestic Water Users Group, and is keen to hear from members. Please contact fergus@dublinchamber.ie if you have insights to share relating to water supply, connection costs and charges.

The Pinnacle Programme
