Dalian MOU Signing
Memorandum of Understanding with Dalian, China

Dublin Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with IDA and the Ireland China Association held a "Doing Business in Dalian" briefing on Monday 20th June 2011. Presenting at the event were Imelda Reynolds, President, Dublin Chamber of Commerce; Li Bozhou, Chairman, Dalian Chamber of Commerce; Gerry Sharkey, Manager Growth Market Division, IDA and Kevin Lynch, Chairman, Ireland China Association. The briefing concluded with the signing of an MOU between the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Dalian Sub-council and Dublin Chamber of Commerce. The MOU identified areas of common interest and signals the beginning of what we hope will be a fruitful cooperation between the two regions.

Dalian’s location on the southern tip of the Eastern Liaoning Peninsula has enabled the city to become one of Northern China's most important centres of international shipping, finance, tourism and ICT. Dalian now has over 900 software companies, about 60 of them are Fortune 500. It is the largest regional home for foreign banks and therefore acts as the international clearing centre for Northern China.
