We're pleased to see some progress regarding various transport over the past few months. The Chamber welcomed the revised proposed route for MetroLink, which was announced in March. Our submission to the NTA, which is broadly supportive of the proposed plan,can be read here.
The Liffey Cycle Route is a project that has been mooted for Dublin's quays for almost a decade. The latest iteration of the plan was published last month. The Chamber has welcomed the proposals as a good compromise for all road users. We were pleased to see that car access has been maintained, while the addition of new boardwalks allowing for a continuous segregated cycle path between Heuston Station and the Tom Clarke Bridge. How about a one hour train service between Dublin and Cork and Dublin and Belfast? Those are just two of the ambitions stated by the Chamber for the country's rail network in a recent submission to Irish Rail regarding the Irish Rail Consolidated Rail Strategy to 2027.
